George Needham
George Needham is Vice President for Global and Regional
Councils at OCLC in Dublin, Ohio. In 2009, he also opened a private consulting
practice, specializing in library strategy, implementation, staff development,
and governance. George has been involved in libraries since the 1970s as a
reference librarian, branch manager, technologist, director, and association
executive. A frequent speaker at library events, George has also written several
articles, contributed chapters to three books, and written hundreds of reviews
for Library Journal, Booklist, and AudioFile. His sole
brush with non-library fame came as a two-time Jeopardy champion in
December, 1994.
Jim Connor
Jim
Connor brings over forty years of education and practical experience in
community leadership and organization management to his audience..He has been
nicknamed ‘The Traveling Trustee’ by his colleagues because of his extensive
travel for Leadership Institutes, workshops and keynote presentations in
thirty-plus states, and over three hundred libraries across the country.
Jim’s experience includes private business, Chamber of Commerce
Executive in both local and the U. S Chamber. He published a weekly newspaper
for ten years and served in various leadership positions within his community.
Jim was appointed to serve as a Trustee for a large metropolitan
Public Library where he served for several years. Other state and national
groups, such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation U.S. Libraries Initiative
asked Jim to serve on advisory boards and appointed him to leadership roles
within those organizations.
Jim has received awards for his work with trustees and public
library boards, such as the prestigious American Library Associations’ Trustee
Citation. He is also a former Instructor for the Institute for Organization
Management, sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, has co-authored
governance articles published by Web Junction and developed DVD training
segments for public library trustees. His latest publication, “Dynamics of
Leadership In Rural America” is due for release in the Fall of 2011.
His presentation style has been characterized as both candid
and humorous while covering a wide range of issues and helpful information.

Karen
Burns
Karen, the Administrator with the Southwest Iowa Library Service
Area, inherited a love of electronic gadgets from her father, now 90 years old.
She has to buy gadgets to keep up with him, and has purchased kindles, nooks, a
Sony Reader, a Libre--all to be able to compare eReaders and help librarians
help patrons. (Oh, and she does read on all of them, too...)

Ann Coulter
Ann wears a variety of hats in the library world. She is the
Director of the Learning Resource Center at Southwestern Community College in
Creston, as well as the President of the Board of Trustees of the
Matilda J.
Gibson Memorial Library in Creston, and the Chair of the
Southwest Iowa Library
Service Area Board of Trustees. Recipient of
SWILSA's Vision Award in
2007 and the Iowa Library Association Outstanding Trustee 2010, Ann is always looking for technologies that will better serve libraries
and their patrons, and especially marketing those services!

Tammy DiBartolo
Youth Services Manager, Rapides Parish Library, Alexandria, LA
Tammy has a degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked in a library
setting since 1989. She has literally worked in every department of a library!
Prior to Hurricane Katrina, she was the Assistant Director at Plaquemines Parish
(county) Library and moved to Central Louisiana after the storm. Tammy is now
the Youth Services Manager at Rapides Parish Library and also co-manages the new
Westside Regional Library. Since moving to Alexandria, she become a trainer with
Louisiana Pathways. With this certification, Tammy has trained literally
hundreds of daycare workers, Head Start teachers and parents in ways to improve
the literacy skills of the children that they work with.

Dee Crowner
Dee is the Director of the North Liberty Public Library.

Sandy Dixon
Sandy Dixon is the head of Library
Development for the State Library of Iowa, a position she has held since
2004. She is the editor of the Iowa Library Trustee's Handbook and
frequently answers questions from libraries and cities about library
governance. She helped write proposed changes to the library district
legislation passed in 2010 by the Iowa General Assembly. Dixon was
continuing education consultant for the State Library of Iowa from 1984 to

Katie
Dunneback
Katie
Dunneback, Consultant with East Central Library Services, is known for her
specialties in reader’s advisory services and technology. She has contributed
book chapters on reader’s advisory in romance and has spoken at a national
conference on the issue of ebooks and reader’s advisory, and is scheduled to
speak at a publishing industry conference in February on the issue of ebooks in
libraries. As part of the administration team for the WILBOR consortium, she has
been deeply involved with the issue of providing ebooks in libraries across the
state.

Jan Frank-de Ois
Jan
(far right in the photo) is the Director of the Shenandoah Public Library, and
one of the leads in the video history project about Shenandoah in the 1930s.
Jeannine Liljedahl, volunteer at the
Shenandoah Museum was a cohort in the project, as were several high school
students. Brian Doust, Teacher and Coach at Shenandoah Schools, was
indispensable in working out the technical aspects of the project. Evan
Lindburg, Student at Shenandoah High School, assists in putting together this
presentation.
Becky Heil
Becky Heil is currently working part time as a Reader’s
Advisory librarian at the Recommendations Desk at Carnegie Stout Public
Library. For 25 years she was the library director at the Dubuque County
Library System and oversaw several small branches and a bookmobile. She served
as treasurer for the Association for Rural & Small Libraries for three years and
is currently the Vice President/President Elect. She truly enjoys working for
and with small libraries and loves spending time furthering the goals of the
Association.
Kim Kietzman
Kim is the Director of the Altoona Public Library, coming from her previous
position as Administrator of Southeastern Library Services, headquartered in
Bettendorf. Kim joined SLS after three years serving as the founding director of
Iowa's newest small library in LeClaire. Kim has experience in all library
departments in libraries ranging from small to urban. She is interested in all
the areas of librarianship most librarians avoid - management, administration,
planning, budgeting and other various painful tasks.

Brandie Ledford
Brandie Ledford has been the Director of Sac City Public Library for 2½ years.
She also works as a field consultant for Northwest Iowa Library Services Special
Project Consulting Service. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history
from Eastern Illinois University in 1997 and earned a masters degree in adult &
continuing education from Western Washington University in 2007. Before working
in libraries, Brandie trained co-workers on software and databases in law firms
for 10 years. Now at Sac City Library, she presents many adult programs and
teaches adult computer classes.

Bonnie McKewon
Bonnie McKewon is the administrator of Northwest Iowa Library
Services, overseeing library management training and consulting for 114 public
libraries. She teaches Public Library Management 1, is an active member of the
ISLOC Team and the WILBOR Team, and serves on various ILA committees. She is
the editor of 2 electronic newsletters: Monday Morning Eye-Opener and
The Boardroom. In addition to her work with staff training, Bonnie has a
special interest in board training as well. She has presented board development
programs in Iowa, Michigan, Kansas, South Dakota, and Colorado.

Sonja
Plummer Morgan
Sonja Plummer Morgan earned a Bachelor's Degree in Library and
Information Technology and an MLIS at the University of South Carolina. Both
degrees were a combination of online and in-person curricula. Sonja currently
serves as president of the Maine Library Association, President for the
Association for Rural & Small Libraries, and **APA Promotion and Fundraising
Committee**. Sonja is a public library director in northern Maine and has a
passion for Web 2.0 and 3.0 emerging technologies, in particular, how social
media trends, and gaming blend with more traditional services to serve each
other and our communities better.

Jenny is Field Marketing Manager with OCLC, and works with the 'Geek the
Library" campaign.
Eunice
Riesberg
Eunice is the Administrator of Northeast Iowa Library Service Area, and a gadget
geek from way back. She has collected many eReaders, for comparisons--and
reading!

Kenton Temple is the
Director of the Anna Porter Library in Gatlinburg, TN. "I
have been a librarian for about 40 years and have worked in public, academic,
school and special libraries before landing my dream job in Gatlinburg in 1998.
I graduated from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame IN, 1970, B.A.; LSU M.S.L.S,
1971; McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA, M.A. 1977. I have two grown
daughters, Derry (O'Kane) is almost a family counseling therapist, and Erin
(O'Kane) is a nurse. I'm married to Walt Tunnell and we live with Dusty the
dog, and Abigail the cat. I love working next to Great Smoky Mountains National
Park and hike and backpack whenever I can."
