Administrative Services Report January 2002 1. Office Technology/Network. The new laptop computer has arrived, and will be used for the first time during the spreadsheets workshop on February 5. The SonicWall firewall has been installed and configured. Bringing up the old webserver as a Windows 98 machine will take awhile longer--after I installed the Windows 98 (discovering that one of the hard drives had failed) the floppy drive seemed to fail--in fact, it appears that the motherboard is failing. I will buy another motherboard but it isn't high on the priority list at this time. 2. Continuing Education / Individual CE Plans. I have begun working with Jan Frank-de Ois in Shenandoah for our first foray into ICEPs. She is also helping me with evaluating the process as we proceed. Denise Crawford in Glenwood will begin the process with me in January. In the process of identifying resources, I am also finding it necessary to do some planning and foundation work on setting up a mentoring program. 3. Automobile. We purchased new, all-season tires for the SWILSA auto. 4. Upcoming: January 30
